Stewed Apple & Cinnamon Autumnal Waffles

Stewed Apple & Cinnamon Autumnal Waffles

Warm apple cinnamon waffles, jammy stewed fruit, biscuit drizzle, bit of yoghurt, some crunch. Takes about 10 minutes. It's not really a recipe, more like a very good idea for what to put on your waffles. Let's go.

  • One pack of Apple Cinnamon Waffles
  • Two large seasonal apples, chopped
  • Cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 1 Tbsp caramel biscuit spread (we used biscoff). This can also be substituted for almond butter / peanut butter.
  • Toasted nuts or granola for crunch
  • Greek yoghurt for serving

  1. Chuck your chopped apples in a small pan with the water, a good shake of cinnamon, and maple syrup if you're using it. Let them bubble away on medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they've gone all soft and jammy. If they're looking dry, splash in a tiny bit more water.

  2. Once your apples are nearly done, pop your Apple Cinnamon Waffles in the toaster. They only take a couple of minutes and you want everything to come together warm.

  3. Pop your biscoff spread in the microwave for about 20 seconds until it's properly melted and drizzly. Don't skip this bit - cold biscoff is lovely but it's not going to drizzle.

  4. Plate up waffles, spoon over the warm stewed apples, drizzle that melted biscoff all over the top, add a generous dollop of Greek yoghurt, and finish with your toasted nuts or granola for some crunch.

  5. Done! Eat immediately while everything's still warm and the biscuit spread is doing its thing.
