The Great Breakfast Treaty - Draw Your Dream Griddle Breakfast Competition

Terms and Conditions

1. The promoter

The promoter of the competition is MH Pantry Ltd, trading as Griddle Bakery (“Griddle”), whose registered office is at East Hole Farm, Knowstone, Devon, EX36 4RY (“the Promoter”).

The Week Junior is promoting the competition but is not the Promoter.

2. Competition period

The competition opens on Friday 28 August 2026 and closes at 11:59pm BST on Sunday 6 September 2026 (the “Closing Date”).

Entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted.

3. Who can enter

The competition is open to children aged between 6 and 14 years who are resident in the United Kingdom.

Each entry must be submitted by the child’s parent or legal guardian, who must be aged 18 or over. By submitting an entry, the parent or guardian confirms that:

• they are the entrant’s parent or legal guardian, or have the necessary authority to submit the entry;

• they consent to the child taking part in the competition;

• they have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions; and

• they consent to the use and publication of the child’s first name, age and artwork as described in these Terms and Conditions.

No purchase is necessary and there is no fee to enter.

4. How to enter

To enter, children should create a drawing of their dream Griddle breakfast, featuring waffles, and ask their parent or guardian to submit it using one of the following methods:

By email: The parent or guardian should email a clear photograph or scanned copy of the drawing to letswaffle@griddlebakery.com

By post: Send the original drawing or a copy to:

Postal entries must arrive at this address by the Closing Date. The Promoter is not responsible for entries that are delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete or lost in the post. 

Every entry must include:

• the child’s first name;

• the child’s age; and

• the parent’s or guardian’s email address.

Please do not include the child’s surname, home address, photograph or any other information that could identify or locate the child. Parents and guardians should check the drawing before submitting it to ensure it does not display personal information. Please note, we are unable to return any original artworks sent in the post.

5. Entry requirements

Entries must:

• be the child’s own original work;

• relate to the theme of a dream Griddle breakfast featuring waffles;

• be suitable for publication and viewing by children and families;

• not copy another person’s work or infringe anyone else’s rights;

• not contain offensive, discriminatory, dangerous or otherwise inappropriate material; and

• not contain third-party brand names, logos or copyrighted characters.

6. Choosing the winner

One winner will be selected by members of the Griddle team from all valid entries received before the Closing Date.

Entries will be judged according to:

• creativity and imagination; and

• relevance to the back to school Griddle breakfast theme

Artistic skill will not be the sole deciding factor. Entries will be considered appropriately in light of the child’s age.

The judging panel’s decision will be final. No correspondence or discussion about the result will be entered into.

7. Winner notification

The winner’s parent or guardian will be contacted using the email address supplied with the entry by 6:00pm BST on Wednesday 9 September 2026.

The parent or guardian must respond within 72 hours of the winner notification being sent. The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If no response is received within 72 hours, if the winner is ineligible, or if the information provided cannot be verified, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner using the same judging criteria.

8. The prize

The winner will receive:

• five boxes of Griddle frozen waffles, described as approximately one month’s supply; and

• one pair of Griddle bamboo toaster tongs.

The prize will be dispatched to a UK address supplied by the winner’s parent or guardian within seven days of the winner providing all information reasonably required to arrange delivery.

The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable and no cash alternative will be offered. 

The waffle products contain, or may contain, allergens. The winner’s parent or guardian is responsible for reviewing the ingredients, allergen information, storage instructions and preparation directions supplied with the products before consumption.

9. Publication of the winning entry

The winning child’s first name, age and artwork are intended to be published:

• in the Over to You section of The Week Junior (25th September 2026 edition).

• on the Griddle Bakery website; and

• on Griddle Bakery’s Instagram channel.

By submitting an entry, the parent or guardian gives the Promoter permission to reproduce, resize, crop and display the artwork for the administration, announcement and reasonable promotion of this competition, including through the channels listed above. Griddle may also share the winning artwork, first name and age with The Week Junior for these purposes.

The Promoter cannot guarantee the publication date or exact placement of the winning entry where publication is controlled by The Week Junior or a social media platform.

10. Personal information

The Promoter will use personal information submitted in connection with the competition only to administer the competition, assess entries, contact the winner, deliver the prize and publish the winning entry as described above.

Competition entrants will not be added to Griddle’s marketing database unless the parent or guardian has separately and expressly agreed to receive marketing communications. Entering the competition is not conditional on providing marketing consent.
